Forty Days of Pascha: Christ is Risen!
Orthodox Christians greet each other saying “Christ is risen!” during the forty days after our Lord’s resurrection. This is in response to the forty days Christ continued to teach the Apostles until His Ascension.
The Church is wonderful in the way She can ebb and flow with feasts and fasts. We journeyed for 40 days during Lent in preparation for Holy Week and then Pascha. And now we are in a celebratory phase until Pentecost. But people forget, neglecting to enjoy the times set aside to rejoice. This is the time to rejoice.
